Alexander Graham Bell was born on 3rd March, 1847. He died on 2nd August, 1922. He was an inventor and invented many things. His main invention was telephone which is still used these days. He also patented his invention of telephone and got a lot of fame and international recognition. His other main inventions were graphophone, mine detector, twisted pair and many other things which are of routine use in daily life. He invented the first crude metal detector and tried using it to find a bullet after President Garfield had been shot but he was unable to find the slug.

Alexander Graham Bell was interested in the science of sound as his mother and wife, were dead. He was willing to find the reasons why a person is deaf and he often used to think and conduct experiments in order to understand the transmission of sound. As his mother and wife were deaf therefore he was interested to solve this issue.
He tried to understand the science behind transmission of sound and its receiving. He was not able to solve the issues with deafness but in his efforts for understanding the transmission of sound and other factors related with this science, he was able to invent the telephone.
