Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) was born on 1797 and died on 26th November, 1883. She was born in a slave family and at that time equal rights were not available to humans. There were different rules and rights for black and white people and also for slave and free people. Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) was not educated but she had a vision and she worked hard due to which she got a lot of fame and success in her life.

Early times
Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) was born in slave family in New York and she was also sold as a slave. She was also forced to marry with another slave. At that time equal rights were not given to African Americans and that time was very hard for them. Women were also treated badly and the system of justice was not proper. Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) was an African American woman and that time was very hard for her. She faced many hard times but worked hard and fought for the rights of African Americans and also for women. Due to her efforts many slaves were freed and many rights were given to women.

End of slavery
It was 18th December, 1865 when the 13th Amendment was made and it was the end of slavery. Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) played an important role among many others in order to end slavery and get equal rights for humans. She saw inequality in rights and standards of living among people who are black and white and who are African Americans and Americans. She was against such differences and she wanted to get equal rights for all humans. Her efforts helped in ending slavery and getting equal rights for humans in many ways. She is also famous for her work for ending slavery and promotion of equal rights for women. Her vision was clear and she also proved her worth due to which she got international recognition and fame and helped many people all over the world.

This quote from Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) shows that she believed in truth and she also guided others to speak truth. She was right in her work as she was with truth and she knows that truth is powerful. In the end it is truth which prevails and it is to be accepted. Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) fought for truth throughout her life and got success and fame which helped humanity and set an example for humans.

“It is the mind that makes the body”
This quote from Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) shows that she was in favour of equal rights for all humans. Mind is available in humans whether they are black or white, men or women. All humans have mind and all actions of humans are based on the actions of mind. It is important to work on improvement of mind by using education and teachings and moral values and other good stuff. If the mind is good then the person is good and if the mind is bad then the person is bad. Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree) was in favour of working on mind so that it can be improved and all humans can get equal rights and equal chances to work and contribute to the success and welfare for the society and also for the whole world.

Accomplishments:
After she escaped from slavery, she was one of the earliest and most passionate abolitionists ( people who worked to abolish slavery) . She lectured on the cruelties she experienced. She is best known for her “Ain’t i a woman?” speech she gave at the women’s Rights convention in 1851.
She raised food and clothing contributions for black regiments during the civil war, and met President Abraham Lincoln at the White House in 1864.
NASA’S Mars Pathfinder Robotic Rover was named after her to honor her in 1997.
